BY HAND

Fall 2013 • Below are a few photos from my 300 level design class. Students learn about hand-lettering and tracing of type. The questions are: What happens when we take time to trace letters? Can work that is done off the computer be considered Graphic Design? The book format helps students investigate papers and materials while working with sequence.

Spring 2013
322 Intermediate Graphic Design  Professor Julie Baugnet

Students investigate typography. The challenge is to study each character and to create the typetracing each character. This method gives students a chance to discover the anatomy of type and to see the difference between mechanical print outs and the work done using various mediums.
